Welcome to Geima
We are a forest community in Tiwai rainforest by the Moa River, part of the Gola-Tiwai UNESCO World Heritage site in Sierra Leone.
Here is the story of how we are building our guesthouse. A traditional building using materials from the forest and river, with some modern comforts.
We are opening in September 2026 and look forward to welcoming you to our village, to stay in our guesthouse, and share our culture and hospitality.
We would love to hear from you - please contact us here to find out more about our guesthouse or make a booking.
How our dream is coming to life
Our whole community came together to get our guesthouse to roof hight. We collected the stones, mined the sand, made the mudbricks. It's being built by the community for the community.
We are thankful to people in neighbouring villages who have helped gather the materials and prepare the land. And to the support of partners, including the Tiwai Island team who will help with our training.
Watch our for our next exciting news as we work to finish our guesthouse. And you can find out more by contacting us here. We would love to hear from you
